Civil protection exercise 'EUrban Water Aid Project', in Hungary
Under the EUrban Water Aid (EUWA) Project, financed and coordinated by the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism, participants executed a complex urban water treatment and flood rescue field practice on the Tisza river, from 2 to 6 April 2017. During this exercise in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, on a simulation of a major flooding and subsequent structural collapse of water supply, participants had to solve these real problems. The National Directorate General for Disaster Management, Ministry of the Interior Hungary, Budapest Waterworks, Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage, the Croatian National Protection and Rescue Directorate, and the Slovak Fire and Rescue Corps, successfully jointly participated in the exercise, under coordination by the EU's civil protection team.
