EU-Japan Summit in Tokyo, Japan


At the 25th EU-Japan Summit, which took place in Tokyo, two landmark agreements – the Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Economic Partnership Agreement – have been signed, significantly boosting bilateral relations between the EU and Japan. This morning the EU and Japan also concluded negotiations on reciprocal adequacy, agreeing to recognise each other's data protection systems as 'equivalent'.
