Participation of Maria Damanaki, in the event 'Re-energising the oceans'

Maria Damanaki, Member of the EC in charge of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and the Global Ocean Commission co-hosted the Conference "Re-energising the Oceans", which took place on 30 June 2014 in Brussels. They presented their views on how to restore ocean health and sustainable productivity. Trevor Manuel, and José María Figueres, Co-Chairs of the Global Ocean Commission, presented the proposals made by the Global Ocean Commission. Maria Damanaki delivered a speech on "Global solutions to save the world's oceans". The event was attended by high level political representatives from EU Member States, Members of the European Parliament, NGOs, stakeholders and media representatives.
