Signing of a cultural cooperation agreement by Ivan Tasovac, Serbian Minister for Culture and Information, and Androulla Vassiliou, in the framework of the 'Europe Creative' programme
On 19 June 2014, Androulla Vassiliou, Member of the EC in charge of Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, received the visit of Ivan Tasovac, Serbian Minister for Culture and Information. On this occasion, they signed the Creative Europe participation agreement at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
Serbia is the first non-European Union country to sign up and participate in the new Creative Europe programme which provides grants for transnational cooperation projects involving organisations in the cultural and creative sectors. Similar agreements are envisaged by the European Commission in the near future with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Turkey, Georgia and Moldova, while preparatory talks with several other countries are ongoing.
