Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, visited the Philippines on 16 November 2013, a few days after Typhoon Haiyan hit the country causing wide-spread damage.
Kristalina Georgieva visited destroyed areas, talked to victims, and met humanitarian organisations' staff. In Tacloban, she also met Mar A. Roxas, Philippine Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, as well as Alfred S. Romualdez, Mayor of Tacloban.
During her visit, Kristalina Georgieva announced 7 million euros more in humanitarian aid, bringing the European Commission's assistance to 20 million euros. PHOTOLISTE DES PLANS
