Visit of Dacian Cioloș, to Japan: 12/11/2013

Dacian Cioloş, Member of the EC in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development, visited Japan in November 2013, accompanied by 31 producers from the European agricultural food sector. The aims of his visit were, on the one hand, to stimulate interest among Japanese consumers in high quality European agricultural food products and, on the other hand, meet Japanese authorities to facilitate the EU/Japan negotiations for a free trade agreement. On 12 November 2013, Dacian Cioloş visited the Saito dairy farm as well as the facilities of the Sanbu Vegetable Network, and met local organic farmers. He was accompanied by Hisao Harihara, Japanese Vice-Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
