Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Industry and Entrepreneurship, made a trip to Israel on 21 and 22 October 2013. He was accompanied by some 65 industry associations and companies from 17 EU Member States. They participated in WATEC Israel 2013, the Water Technology and Environment Control Exhibition and Conference.
Strengthening already amicable business relations and exploring further opportunities for European SMEs on the Israeli market was the main focus of the visit.
On 22 October, Antonio Tajani met Uzi Landau, Israeli Minister for Tourism, as well as Silvan Shalom, Israeli Minister for Energy and Water Resources, Minister for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee, and Minister for Regional Cooperation, and Israeli companies' representatives. He also met Naftali Bennett, Israeli Minister for the Economy, with whom he signed Letters of Intent on Industrial Policy Cooperation and on SME Policy Dialogue between the EU and Israel.
