Newspackage: 'Rail Baltica' train from Vilnius via Riga to Tallinn

On 16 October 2013, on the occasion of the official ceremony of the "Rail Baltica" project, James Pond, Adviser to DG Mobility and Transport of the EC, Jean-Marc Venineaux, Employee at the DG Regional and Urban Policy of the EC, and Pavel Telička, European coordinators for the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) in charge of the Priority Project No. 27: "Rail Baltica Warsaw-Kaunas-Riga–Tallinn–Helsinki", travelled on board of the "Rail Baltica" train moving from Vilnius, Lithuania, via Riga, Latvia, to Tallinn, Estonia. The European Commission selected a total of 172 projects aimed to benefit from almost €1.6 billion in EU co-financing from the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) Programme for improving transport infrastructure across Europe.
