3rd meeting of the European Resource Efficiency Platform with the participation of Janez Potočnik, Connie Hedegaard and Olli Rehn

On 17 June 2013, Olli Rehn, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro, Janez Potočnik, Member of the EC in charge of Environment, and Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, participated in the 3rd meeting of the European Resource Efficiency Platform, which they are Members of. The platform was chaired by John Bruton, former Irish Prime Minister. The European Resource Efficiency Platform's objective is to provide high-level guidance to the European Commission, Members States and private actors on the transition to a more resource-efficient economy. This transformation is complex and cuts across policy areas and interests. Environmental resources and economic systems affect each other — it is rarely possible to reform one without altering the other.
