On 3 June 2014, Mr Giovanni Kessler, the Director-General of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) participated in a Seminar on anti-fraud and anti-corruption measures in European and structural investment funds in Bucharest. The seminar was organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Romanian Ministry of European Funds and several non-governmental organisations. Mr Kessler took part in bilateral meetings with Mr Andrei Chendi, State Secretary, Head of the Fight Against Fraud Department of Romania (DLAF) and Ms Laura Kovesi, Chief Prosecutor of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA). The meetings focused on the recent activities of these institutions and on cooperation on anti-fraud issues. Mr Kessler also participated in a meeting with the Romanian Prime-Minister, Mr Victor Ponta. The discussion focused, among other broad themes, on the European Commission's proposal for the establishment of a European Public Prosecutor's OfficeAll available translations., for which the Romanian Government expressed its full support.
