Signature of an Administrative Cooperation Arrangement with the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission
Date: 3/5/2013 - Location: Brussels
The Director-General of OLAF, Mr Giovanni Kessler signed an Administrative Cooperation Arrangement today with Mr Rafiq Al-Natsheh, the President of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC). The Arrangement provides for closer operational cooperation between OLAF and the PACC, a specialised Palestinian investigation and prosecution body created in 2010 in order to reinforce fight against corruption and money laundering.
As part of the EU's efforts to assist partners in developing specialised anti-fraud and anti-corruption capacities, OLAF also received on 29 and 30 April 2013 a delegation of prosecutors from the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) and judges from the Corruption Crime Court for a study visit. The visit was co-organised by OLAF and the EU Police Coordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support (EUPOL COPPS). As part of the two-day visit, the prosecutors and judges got acquainted with OLAF's tools for fighting fraud and corruption within both the EU and outside the EU, as well as fraud prevention measures and anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy initiatives in the EU, such as the Commissions' Anti-Fraud Strategy. The participants had the opportunity to learn about OLAF's case management system and forensic analysis tools.
