From 12-14/9/2012 - Organiser: European Investment Bank - Location: Luxembourg - Participation of OLAF Director General
An OLAF team led by Mr Kessler (Director General) and Ms Hofmann (Director) attended the 13th Annual Conference of International Investigators hosted by the EIB in Luxembourg on 12-14 September 2012. A workshop on Forensic IT Investigations discussing the investigative challenges of fast-evolving technologies and a plenary session on Developments in Technology were chaired by OLAF. The Investigative Data Consultation Platform Project with the World Bank was presented by Ms Hofmann and Mr Kessler made some closing remarks. He emphasised the need for a reinforced exchange of investigative information with the investigative services of international organisations and financial institutions. Other issues discussed at the conference were: fraud in aid and reconstruction programmes, key issues in staff investigations, sanctions' mechanisms, best practice in running an investigative office, peer reviews and prevention.
Within the context of the conference, an Administrative Cooperation Arrangement was signed with the Inspectorate General of the government of Uganda represented by Mr Raphael Obudra Baku, Deputy Inspector General.
