As an independent body, OLAF, has its own Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure the application of the principles of personal data protection in the institution. OLAF's current DPO is Laraine Laudati.

Each Data Protection Officer has to keep a register of processing operations of personal data of the institution. This register contains the notifications of controllers to the Data Protection Officer on their processing of personal data. Any person may consult the OLAF Register.
The main legal basis establishing data protection requirements at OLAF is Regulation 45/2001, the Data Protection Regulation. All relevant EU data protection legislation is presented below.
