  • Report for the Study on Typology and Policy Responses to Child Begging in the EU

European Commission, December 2012, 337 pages

The European Commission-funded study on 'Typology and Policy Responses to Child Begging in the EU', completed in December 2012,  underlines the need for a coordinated and concerted effort in the European Union to address a situation that poses grave dangers for the health and proper development of a very disadvantaged, and often also stigmatised, group of children. The report presents research conducted in 15 European countries and a total of 30 European cities, approaching child begging at a national and local level from a child rights perspective, taking into account the need to punish exploiters and traffickers and to involve families in finding solutions to this violation of human dignity.
