Objectives and results
The project aims to stimulate cooperation and exchange of best practices between the judiciary in order to strategically investigate and prosecute trafficking in human beings. It builds on the European and international mechanisms concerning mutual legal assistance and international cooperation in criminal matters aiming to facilitate the direct contacts at the appropriate level between the prosecutor's offices and police forces from different Member States.
The specific objectives of the project is to create a common understanding among public actors involved in preventing and fighting human trafficking and to reduce the duration of investigations and related procedures.
The expected results are:
- comparative analysis of the French and Romanian judicial systems related to human trafficking
- 4 joint training sessions for 80 French and Romanian magistrates, police officers and gendarmes with a special focus on but not limited to sexual exploitation; training of trainers
- a final conference
