The Lithuanian National Coordinator (NC), appointed in 2007, exercises the role of National Rapporteur. This function is held by the Vice Minister of the Interior under the Ministry of the Interior. The mandate of the National Coordinator includes reporting to the Government and the Parliament on the implementation of the National Programme and on the human trafficking situation in Lithuania.
Complementary to this, the Ministry of the Interior has commissioned an annual independent report from a research institute or similar organisation since 2005. The aim is to evaluate the implementation of the National Programme and report on the general situation on human trafficking in Lithuania.
Data on human trafficking in Lithuania is collected by the Ministry of the Interior (Department of Information Technology and Communications), the Regional Police THB Offices, and the Central THB Investigation Unit of the Lithuanian Criminal Police :
