    Objectives

The goal of the project is to prevent and fight trafficking in human beings, with regard to forced begging with special focus on migrant victims.

In order to achieve this goal, the project aims to increase the knowledge and the training of all stakeholders dealing with the phenomenon, by means of qualitative and quantitative research about the phenomenon itself in two Italian regions (Tuscany - Umbria) and in at least another EU Country involved in the project, and by the diffusion of related data.

A number of experimental actions will be undertaken to fight directly trafficking in human beings, with regard to forced begging and to reintegrate the victims through the existing social, educational and health programmes.

    Several actions envisaged:

    • Qualitative and quantitative research about the phenomenon
    • Experimental actions will be developed for the social reintegration of victims through the existing social, educational and health programmes; providing access to legal counselling and representation, social and health services, housing, appropriate care, and employment, educational and training opportunities.
