    Objectives and results
The objective was to train female border guards on how to detect victims of trafficking with a particular focus on interrogations.

In co-operation with the Belgian Federal Police (Directorate for the fight against criminality against persons), the project supported the improvement of the existing mechanism for detection of victims of trafficking in human beings. Particular emphasis was paid to cases of trafficking for sexual exploitation and forced labour.

Scientific policing, financial investigation and internet monitoring cases were covered by the experts.

The Belgium experts stressed the need to set up an integrated approach to the phenomenon of human trafficking (cooperation with labour inspectorates and state social services) and the importance of facilitating the cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the victims.
