European Parliament resolution on preventing trafficking in human beings

This resolution, adopted by the European Parliament, calls for the fight against trafficking in human beings to be placed high on the agenda of the European Union. The resolution calls for major efforts regarding information gathering, the unconditional protection of victims of trafficking, the provision of legal aid and the reconsideration of the punishment of traffickers in a way that reduces demand for the services provided by victims.
