European Parliament Resolution of 26 November 2009 on the Elimination of Violence against Women (P7-TA (2009) 0098)
The European Parliament by adopting this resolution urges the Member States to improve their national laws and policies to combat all forms of violence against women, in particular trafficking in women for sexual and other purposes.
The European Parliament urges the Member States to provide assistance, under appropriate national programmes and financing schemes, to voluntary bodies and organizations which offer shelter and psychological support to female victims of violence, including trafficking in human beings, regardless of the victim’s nationality, and protection of female victims of domestic violence.
