Agriculture - The tasty bunch - Eat it, Drink it, Move it

Food stories - Vegetables: Episode II

  • Carrot

    Hi guys,

I'm organising a party next Saturday. Are you all in?

  • ImageTomato Of course. I won't miss it! Is it your birthday?

  • ImageCarrot It's just a party … I don't really have a birthday as I grow all over the year.

  • ImageMushroom That's practical. It's the same for me! September can be a special period where you can find a lot of tasty mushrooms but we actually grow all the year around.

  • ImageRadish My birthday is in March. Radish can grow from March to end of Novembre.

  • ImageLeek … and I'm always available except in April, May and June!

  • ImageTomato … what an idea! You miss the best period when it's warm and sunny. Me, I grow just from June to October. I need sun and a lot of water!

  • ImageMushroom Summer may be the best period for you. But for me when I grow in the forest, is when there is more rain and less heath.

  • ImageCarrot Yep but anyway … these days you can find all veggies you like all the year around.

  • ImageMushroom That's practical but in season veggies & fruit taste much better!

  • ImageRadish And you can also go to a farmers' shop or a local market next to you to buy your veggies or fruit directly!

  • ImageMushroom let's check when it's better to look for fresh fruit and vegetables.
