Decisions such as those pertaining to new Regulations on organic farming are made with the participation of different European institutions in particular the European Parliament and the Council.
Commission Regulations are developed with the participation of the Member States via the Standing Committee on Organic Farming which consists of representatives of the Member States. A representative of the Commission has the chair.
The Committee was established in order to ensure close cooperation with the authorities responsible for the organic sector and guarantee uniform application of EU organic legislation.
The minutes of the most recent meetings of the Committee can be found online.
