03/07/2009 Three agricultural product names registeredThe European Commission has added three names of agricultural products and foodstuffs to the Register of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI): UK meat "Melton Mowbray Pork Pie" (PGI) and Italian vinegar "Aceto balsamico di Modena" (PGI). A Polish product was also added "Pierekaczewnik" to the list of Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG). Contrary to PDOs and PGIs, TSGs are not linked to a specific geographical area, but highlight their traditional character, either in the composition or means of production.
