Information measures relating to the common agricultural policy (budget heading 05 08 06)

Overview

The European Commission co-finances information measures relating to the common agricultural policy that aim, in particular, at:

1. explaining, contributing to, implementing and developing the policy,
    
2. promoting the European model of agriculture and helping people understand it,
    
3. informing farmers and other parties active in rural areas,
    
4. raising public awareness of the issues and objectives of the policy.

A call for proposals is published once a year (before 31 October). The Commission accepts applications only from legal entities that have been established for at least two years in an EU member country.

Legal basis

Regulation (EC) No 814/2000 of 17 April 2000 on information measures relating to the common agricultural policy [pdf], defines the type and content of the measures which can be financed under budget heading 05 08 06.

Regulation 2208/2002 [pdf], as amended by Regulation (EC) 1820/2004 [pdf] (implementing rules of Regulation 814/2000).

The Financial Regulation [pdf] (Regulation 1605/2002 - the Financial Regulation applicable to the general budget of the European Communities, as amended by Regulation 1995/2006 [pdf]).

Grants 2012

Requests for grants to implement information measures from 01/03/2012 to 28/02/2013 request may be submitted until 30/09/2011.

Interested organisations are invited to read the Call for Proposals 2011/C 212/11 [pdf] which specifies the priority measures and the timetable for presenting applications for 2012.

The expected date for the end of the evaluation procedure for budget year 2012 is the 28/02/2012. Please do not contact the Commission about the result of your application before this date.

If your application is selected, you will be asked to sign an agreement [doc] with the Commission about the rights and obligations resulting from the Commission's decision to award you a grant.

Please note: the model agreement has been modified in comparison with the previous version. Among the changes: VAT paid by public bodies is not eligible anymore, even if they are not entitled to recover it.
