Workshops of invited
experts in preparation of the Action Plan
5 and 16 September 2005, Brussels
In the context of preparation of the EU Forest Action Plan the
Commission organised two workshops of invited experts. The
main objectives of these workshops were to discuss:
- driving forces, opportunities and constraints, and the values of forests and forestry as perceived by society, with a view to developing a vision concerning the future of the EU forest sector
- strategic objectives of the Action Plan
- main gaps and obstacles in achieving the strategic objectives and goals
