As this chapter deals with the pre-accession process, it is  no longer updated - as from 1st May 2004 - as far as the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, the Slovak Republic, and Slovenia are concerned, and as from 1st January 2007 as far as Bulgaria and Romania are concerned. The existing content on these countries can however still be consulted.
