Objective of the consultation

The present initiative aims to review the current POSEI arrangements with respect to their capacity to attain the objectives set for the scheme and in the light of the CAP Reform, so as to strengthen competitiveness and agricultural resilience in outermost regions (ORs), enhance the sustainable management of natural resources and promote a balanced territorial development.

 

Fostering diversification, simplification and adapting the current policy instruments to new challenges are also among the issues the review will focus on.

 

This consultation process calls on interested parties to express their opinion on the relevance of the elements described in the consultation document pdf - 337 KB [337 KB] Deutsch (de) español (es) français (fr) português (pt) , the consistency of approach and possible improvements that could be made.

 

The public consultation also allows a broad range of information and knowledge to be acquired on the expected effects of possible policy changes to the POSEI instruments. Stakeholders are invited to provide factual, analytical contributions that will complement other sources of information in assessing the impact of the possible policy reform.

The conclusions of the POSEI review, which will take into broad account the contributions to this consultation, are likely to be submitted to the European Parliament and the Council by the beginning of 2014.
