Agricultural trade statistics
Provides tables and graphs describing the European Union's agricultural trade position in the world as well as detailed trade information - per chapter and/or at aggregated product level and by region - in values and quantities for the years 1996-2005 for the EU-15 and from 1999 onwards for the enlarged EU25 based on Eurostat data.
A new way of classifying agricultural trade is proposed in this year's edition of "Agricultural trade statistics". The newly proposed definition distinguishes three big aggregates: commodities, intermediate processed and final products (similar to the Bulk, Intermediate and Consumer Oriented – BICO - definition often used by the US and Canada). Compared to the old classification (raw/processed the new one better reflects the recent steady increase in the EU trade of high value added products.
