During the Libelle Summer Week the beaches of Almere will play host to an exhibition on 50 years of the Common Agricultural Policy.
The central theme of the exhibition will be the influence of agriculture on our everyday lives. This will be the European Commission’s way of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). During the event visitors will be able to interactively discover all about the history of this policy, from 1962 until today.
Food quality, climate change and rural development
Three subjects are to be addressed: the first is food, specifically food security and food quality.Next is the environment, including climate change, the responsible and sustainable use of our natural resources and the role of research and innovation. Finally, our attention will turn to rural development, focusing on the importance of agriculture to balanced regional development.
Organic farmers’ feast
There will be lots to see and lots to eat: organic farmers will be treating visitors to delicacies they have harvested themselves. The Libelle Summer Week takes place from the 7th to the 13th of May and the exhibition is on display at stand 1.050.
